| Interested in serving abroad? HtW is offering year long staff positions and month long volunteer opportunities in the countries of Mali and Botswana in Africa. - 4 Positions are open for HtW's second annual TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) summer prep course in Bamako, Mali. By teaching students how to take the TOEFL exam HtW volunteers are enabling them to have access to American universities. Last years program was a success and we are expecting even more results from this years. - 2 Positions are open to be HtW staff in Mali for a year. Staff in Mali are involved in a wide variety of projects including following up with the summer TOEFL students, teaching in College Samuel a HtW partner grade school, following HtW sponsored children in there schooling and home life, helping out in HtW's partner kindergarten, and interacting with the government on behalf of HtW. - 2 Positions are open to be HtW staff in Botswana for a year. Staff in Botswana will be focused on HtW's partner orphanage. Responsibilities include such activities as mentoring, caring for and tutoring the orphans and vulnerable children of the center. Staff will also be overseeing the eventual transfer of the children to HtW's new site, and the relevant interaction with the local government. All positions are subsidized, however fund raising for oneself is expected for the majority of the costs involved. HtW will help in this effort. Ad provided by Idealist.org |
